early grade reading in senegal: Lecture pour tous
Lecture pour tous, 2017-2018. Lecture pour tous is a Senegalese Ministry of Education program, funded by USAID and implemented by Chemonics International, to improve early grade reading in Senegal through the creation of textbooks in three national languages, as well as teacher training and parent/community engagement activities. As Curriculum Materials Development and Publishing Specialist, we directed a team of Senegalese and International consultants to design and develop specifications for Student and Teacher early grade reading materials in wolof, pulaar and seereer, to be published by a local Senegalese NGO.
reading Instruction: Allons au-delà & AP French
Edited and produced series of upper-level French teaching materials for Pearson Education to prepare students for the reading and listening portions of the AP French Language and Culture Examination. Resourced reading texts in French and worked with author to create pedagogically accurate reading and listening activities. Includes a literature anthology, a manual of contemporary readings from the French and Francophone press and other sources, e-books and a digital course on Pearson's SuccessNetPlus platform.
Mcgraw-Hill EDUCATION Project Management Training
Planned and implemented a project management training program for in-house staff of the Mcgraw-Hill Education ESL division.
Publisher training in Morocco
For an EU-funded project implemented by Paris-based development firm Sofreco, and in collaboration with the Moroccan Ministry of Education, we developed and conducted trainings of Moroccan publishers, in order to strengthen local capacity.

Editor of USAID Civil Society Organization Sustainability Index (CSOSI) for West Africa and MENA Region, 2014. Working as a contractor to Management Systems International, Sloane collaborated with local implementing partners in Morocco, Burundi, DRC, Gabon, Guinea, Mali and Senegal to review country reports, edit, and translate from French into English.
Maine French Heritage Language Program
Participated in design and initiation of The Maine French Heritage Language Program (MFHLP), a unique afterschool culture and language program for students in grades 1-6. The primary objectives are to convey a deep respect for North American French, especially as it is spoken in New England, emphasize the learning of the French language and cultures at the elementary level and help students to better understand Franco-American culture and its importance in the French-speaking world. In addition, it introduces students to the geography and cultures of Francophone regions and countries.
Heritages francophones: enquetes interculturelles
Researched, co-authored and produced text about Francophone issues for Yale University Press. An innovative program of cultural readings, Héritages francophones is an introduction to several living Francophone cultures in the United States. The communities that are explored include the descendants of the Acadians in the St. John Valley of Maine; the Haitian community of Miami; and immigrant peoples from Africa, Asia and Europe. The focus then widens to the countries or areas of origin of these various groups.
